This movie is presented as a re-creation of traumatic, mysterious occurrences that take place in Nome, Alaska. 

Psychologist Abigail Tyler (Milla Jovavich) uncovers these mysteries which include suicides, spooky owls, and demonic sounds during hypnosis sessions with some of her patients.

The movie uses split-screen to recreate "actual" events with the dramatized ones.  Elias plays Jovavich's friendly but doubting colleague and Will Patton is a skeptical sheriff.
